Joseph Short was married to Ollie Mullins (daughter of "Pound Jim" Mullins and Unknown Unknown) in 1827. Joseph and Ollie had no children. Joseph Short did have a daughter "Polly" by a unknown woman.
Polly married a sheriff by the name of Gibson. She was his second or third wife. Joseph was a twin to Virginia Jane "Jennie".
