THIRD GENERATION


Henry Potter was born in 1832.

Henry served in Confederate Army with his brothers John, Andrew, James Harvey and George W. All the brothers were in Co. K, 10th Kentucky Cavalry, CSA. Henry enlisted 7 Aug 1863 at Liberty Hill, VA. He was receiving a pension for his service - 6/3/1912, record number 0336. Henry Potter died 25 Apr 1919 in Pike County, KY at the age of 94.


1870 Pike County Census has the following information on Henry Potter family:

Potter, Henry age 38
Cynthia, age 32
Polly, J., age 13
Moses, age 5
Enoch, age 3
James H., age 7 months

He was married to Cynthia Mullins (daughter of Eli Mullins and Elizabeth Short) on 22 Jul 1855 in Pike County, Kentucky. Pike County Marriage Record 1314, license issued 19 Jul 1855. They were married in the road near Wilson Ramey residence by Hiram Cantrell . Witnesses were Tamara Potter and George Potter . Cynthia Mullins was born in 1834 in Virginia. She died in 1900. Henry Potter and Cynthia Mullins had the following children:

child Shade Potter was born in 1877. He died in 1887.
