John Alsop married Jurya Potter 23 May 1762 in Goochland Co. VA. In 1797 John and Jurya bought land in Wythe Co. VA (which later became Lee Co.) They were also in Knox Co. and Lincoln Co. KY. Their daughter, Lucy Alsop, married Richard Hyden. Many of the Hyden descendants lived in Pulaski County, KY. I am trying to find parents and/or siblings of Jurya Potter.

Would you possibly have any information on the origin of a Mary Jane Potter, born May 11, 1821 somewhere in Kentucky? She married Augustus M. Ellis in September 1842 and lived in Muhlenberg County. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Jeff Showelldenise@flash.net

I was wondering if you might have any information on a Martha Potter who married Thomas Stephens/Stevens about 1828-30 and lived in Russell Co. Va. and later moved to Pike Co. Ky about 1860, I resentely found out Martha last name, she is my G,G,G, Grandmother just thought you might have her in your files.
