Terry's 3M's: Meditations, Mutterings, Madness

Terry's 3M's

January 2, 1998

Two of the kids are at a friend's house and two are upstairs in my room with Delton. Delton just replaced by VCR with another one. My old VCR's auto-tracking had died and it would only play tapes that had been taped in SLP. Which was fine for over half my tapes, but, it meant that most of my sons tapes couldn't be shown with out the picture jumping. Now he can watch the new tapes that he got for Christmas.

I finally got across the bridge in Secret of Evermore. It's a role-playing game for Super Nintendo and the characters are a boy and his dog. It turns out that in several parts of the game, you must turn into the dog in order to do certain things that allow the game to continue.
It's about time to take the Christmas tree down. We have an artificial tree because in this dry climate, it's probably safer than a real one. I suggested that it was possible to leave it up. We could decorate it with hearts for Valentine's Day, shamrocks in March. It will go down this weekend.
Remind me to never volunteer to babysit another child on New Year's Eve again! Bryan's friend spent the night. Of course, all the kid's wanted to stay up until midnight to watch the live coverage of the fireworks display at the Luxor on TV. (I veto'd watching them outside on the porch because I don't didn't want them outside in the cold after dark.) The noise level in the house was constant and deafening to my sensitive ears. For 4 hours the teasing and giggling went on and on. Even after the boys were sent to bed, they didn't go to sleep for a while.

Me? After they went to sleep, I had a comforting glass of Southern Comfort on the rocks before going to sleep.
