Notes for DAVID
CRAIG:
Drowned.[Broderbund WFT Vol.
2, Ed. 1, Tree #2147, Date of Import: 28 Mar 1996]
It was reported in "A
Historical Sketch of New Hope Church in Orange County, N. C., " by
Rev. David I. Craig, 1891, that Samuel Craig's son, David Craig,
drowned. No details were given. I later came across a copy of a
newspaper article from Pendleton, South Carolina, dated May 8, 1807,
that stated, "On Saturday last Mr. David Craig, a young man about 21
years of age from Orange Co., N. C. in attempting to swim his horse
across Keowee River ..... was drowned." I feel strongly that the
young man who drowned was this David Craig who was a brother of our
ancestor, William Craig. MGB
