These are a few of the other animals that have crossed our threshold. (So to speak!)
First, meet Stormy. She was a beautiful little Henny, born one stormy night. Her Mom would not accept her, and so she became our "bottle baby", and really DID cross our threshold! Here she is, anxiously awaitng Bobby mixing formula, and just soaking up love from kids and friends!

Her father was a quarterhorse, and her mother was Ginger the burro. And just how did we meet Ginger, you ask? We were visiting friends when Susie came rushing in, saying, "Mom! Dad! I have such a deal! I found the best burro. He's very good with children, he doesn't eat much, he only costs $35, and the best part is......he's pregnant!" (Susie is now the mother of five herself, and has definitely figured out who does what in the process!) Here's Ginger with Susie, and with Susie and Diana.

It didn't take Diana long to figure out that riding double with her sister, even though they ARE twins, was just a wee tad closer than she cared to be! Enter Whitey, Didee's very own beast of burden! Susie and Di always DID have different destinations in mind anyway!
As the kids grew longer legs, so too did the animals! Here you see Chris with Blondie, Mickey on Paint, and Susie on her beloved Freckles!
And it hasn't stopped yet! Here's Grandson Jay learning the saddle, while Mom Alicia and Dad A.J. supervise.

Some of our other four-footed friends have included Star the goat, (see left) and various assorted pigs, including javalina! Grandma feels piggies have their places, but javalina eating the fruit off her trees is NOT one of them!

The occasional skunk stops by to share the feed dish, but we haven't really tried to find out just how friendly they really are!

Ria raised rabbits on purpose,

and we raised a few "by accident"! (Here's one rescued from a cat!)

Smiley Bennett gave Susie an orphaned racoon. Sasha didn't mind a pen in town, but when we moved to Kimball Valley, the "call of the wild" was just too much for her, and she made the great escape!

Here's a squirrel Ria "almost" tamed,

and our current inhabitant of the linen closet, Fergie the Ferret!

We have a special "Buddy" we are all supporting. To visit his corral, click below. Thank you!

And although neither of these guys qualifies as a "four-footed friend", I couldn't resist this as a closing shot, leaving you all to wonder, "Just who DID have the last word?!"
