Portsmouth South Division Camp was held from 16-18 July 1999 at Sandy Acres. Almost 50 Guides from six different Units attended.
The theme was "The Wild West" as the weekend was close to July 4th, and American Independence Day. Activities included line dancing, woodburning, walking, abseiling, backwoods cooking and craft, and a wide game and campfire were held on Saturday evening.
The weekend gave many Guides who would not usually have the opportunity to camp the chance to spend the weekend under canvas. Many of them discovered new friends, some of whom were at the same school without realising, and learnt new skills.
We all returned home on Sunday afternoon exhausted after a weekend in the sun.
