Victory District is part of Portsmouth South Division, and for those of you who know anything about the geography of Portsmouth, covers Portsea, Somerstown, Landport, Fratton and part of Buckland. It is very definitely inner city Guiding.

There are Rainbows, Brownies and Guides meeting across the District associated with various Churches.

Victory District urgently needs more Guiders and Adult Leaders
to enable more girls of all ages to experience and enjoy Guiding.

Do you have happy memories of Guiding when you were younger?

Are you away from home, perhaps at University, and would like to continue with Guiding?

Could you be a Guider?

As a District we have taken part in the Lord Mayor's Show for the past two years. In 1997 we dressed the lorry as HMS Victory with Rainbows and Guides dressed as sailors, and in 1998 Rainbows, Brownies and Guides became flowers and flower pot men as we followed the theme of the parade dressing the lorry as "Happiness is Springtime". If there had been a prize forthe most people on the lorry we would have won it.

We have held annual Sports Days and taken part in the Division Netball Tournament. Guides have camped, Brownies have been on Pack Holiday, Rainbows have had Teddy Bears' picnics.

This year we celebrated Thinking Day at an American Evening, including line dancing, by exchanging postcards with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from round the world, sending them to the USA, Canada, Barbados, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Some of the Units involved now have penfriends in Guiding round the world.
