Across Five Aprils by Hunt--The powerful story of a young man for whom the Civil War spans five Aprils.

American Adventures 2 by Greenberg--Fifteen true stories about rarely remembered pioneers in a broad range of endeavors and forgotten events in Americas past from 1870 till today.

Dandelions by Eve Bunting--The story of a family that moves to the Nebraska Territory via covered wagon to homestead the land the father claimed for free the spring before - lots of emotion in this tale and it helps you to get into what it must have felt like during that time.

Freedom Train: The Story of Harriet Tubman by Sterling

George Washington Carver by Collins--Carver overcame racial prejudice to become an outstanding Christian scientist.

Laura Ingalls Wilder written and illustrated by Alexander Wallner. Spans birth thru death, only takes about 20 minutes to read.

Laura Ingalls Wilder Country by W. Anderson

Little Britches by Moody--ranching in Colorado in early 1900's.

Little House Cookbook
