- To make your houseplant glow, feed your plant a tablespoon of castor oil, followed by water.
- For plant nourishment, place a few egg shells in their pots.
- Soak clay pots in water for a few minutes before using, so that they will not absorb moisture from the potting soil.
- Water plants with boiled egg water, this has excellent minerals.
- Cut flowers will last longer if you add one of the following to the vase:
a multivitamin, an asprin, a teaspoon of sugar, or a pinch of salt and bicarb soda.
- Remove leaves below the water line in the vase to avoid water decaying.
- Frequently rotate the pots about a quarter turn so they absorb sunlight evenly.
Plants tend to lean towards sunlight.
- In winter, melt snow for watering, it has excellent minerals.
- To prevent cement greenery, and to get rid of moss on patio bricks, sweep salt or baking soda into the cracks.
- Do not cut the grass too short, it will affect the root length which corresponds to grass height.
- Do not cut the grass when it is damp from the dew or rain, mowing will be uneven and it can also cause clumps of grass that will block sun light.
- Plant herbs along with other plants to repel insects. They are natural insecticides.
