SPIRIT WOLF

Daytime and nighttime he walks alone,
ever watchful all around.

Pawprints left on the ground below,
he waits and stands his ground.

Hunters menace, never to be stopped,
till one day the lone wolf is found.

The end comes quick; but not without pain,
as the lone wolf dies with nary a sound.

The body they can kill,
but now the spirit is unbound.
