After I've Gone

After I've gone I will still be with you
You will see me in all the sunrises

This entire "Special Gift" page was made for me by a member of RAOK.
A lovely and kind member ... Betty.

This section of the page was to be a place to add what ever I desired.
I smiled to myself ... Picturing the "Mona Lisa"
with a blank section left at the bottom of the painting,
for additions to da Vinci's work of art.

The page was a total surprise to me ... "Out of the blue" as they say.

Need I tell you, I'm unashamedly sentimental and emotional,
More so when it comes to my wife and companion of so many years.
So imagine if you will ... No ... I take that back. No one could imagine
The emotion that filled my heart
When Betty's "gift" first appeared on screen.

I read the page several times ...through eyes filled with tears.
I tried more than once to read "After I've Gone" aloud
Without success ... each time my voice would falter.

To any visitor reading this ... Please understand
There is no sympathy sought in my writing the above.
My reactions are for the benefit of only one person ... Betty
I want her to know how deeply her "gift" touched me.
I do so with a purpose in mind.

To bestow an act of kindness without expecting anything in return
Is a most admirable way of giving ... No question!
One cannot help but feel a "glow" of warmth when giving from the heart.
It's a wonderful feeling. A reward unto itself.

However I'm also of the opinion,
That "glow" becomes brighter ... even warmer
When such an act of kindness is acknowledged
With sincerity to the "Giver".

So it is my hope, and my fondest wish,
The warmth Betty had to feel with her act of kindness
Be rekindled should she return to the "Gardener Angel"

Just as I will relive a warmth of my own ...
Each and every time I gaze upon her kindness.

I hope I haven't embarrassed you with my long winded comment.
If I have ... Well, you know what they say ... "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" :)

I have nothing further to add to your "Masterpiece of Compassion"
