7 volumes in 3 books. Volume I, "History of Transportation" A summary gives the history of the practice, explaining that serious crimes such as murder, rape, treason, etc. were not commuted to transportation, that the usual time of transportaion was 7 years unless otherwise noted, that the colonies of Virginia and Maryland and the Caribbean Islands received the prisons, that the prisoners were treated no differently than the indentured servants once they arrived in the colonies, and that no less than a personage than Benjamin Franklin pled for the transportation of the "rattlesnakes" to help populate the colonies.

Code:
Ala is alias, used by men or sometimes listed as the maiden name of the women.
AT is Awaiting Transportation
PT is Pleaded Transportation
The dates of AT or PT.
R is reprieved from the death sentence, followed by date.
S is sentenced, followed by date. Sessions of Gaol Delivery
SQ is sentenced to transportation at Middlesex Quarter Sessions, followed by date.
SW is sentenced to transportation at Westminster Sessions
s is stealing, and usually has the items listed.
T is transported, with date of embarcation, ship's name, and destination.


Occasionally an item will tell where the crime took place.

This is the name, her identification, her sentence in April 1767
and the date of transportation May 1767 and the ship Thorton.
