MARCH 1989
How Florida Law Enforcers Treat Pro-Lifers

In March, 1989 there was another Rescue in Boca Raton, Florida another few hundred people gathered, for the Rescue, and usually the night before the Rescues there is a rally. There are speakers and we have a church service. The next morning we gathered in a church parking lot and from there went to a killing center. As we were driving to our destination there were police helicopters over us, and police in squad cars and on motorcycles. They were tracking us to see where we were going so that they could radio ahead of us and have a barrage of police there before we could get there. But we went out of the jurisdiction of the police that were on alert. There are so many killing centers in Florida that one doesn't have to go far to find one. The Rescue took place and the killing center was surrounded by pro-life Rescuers when the police were called by the abortionist, it usually takes several hours for the police to arrest everyone, and during that time babies are saved and the mothers are offered help and hope. We wound up in jail for two days and given a court date to appear at later. A number of the people chose to pay a fine and that was it for them. But there are other people that feel that paying a fine or money to the system that supports and protects the killing of innocent human beings is unconscionable. So it wound up that there were seven of us that requested a full trial. We called ourselves the Boca Seven.

The day of the trial, the Boca Seven came before a woman Judge who also happened to be pregnant! The prosecuting attorneys showed the police video of the Rescue. It was a beautiful sight to see all these lovely people praying and singing. I thought for sure the Judge and jury would be favorably impressed. Well she asked the jury to only bring a verdict of guilty or not guilty for breaking the law. The law she defined was (obstructing justice). Is it justice to allow the killing of innocent children with no one allowed to speak up for them? The Holy Word of God says, in Proverbs 31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. One of our seven could not be identified so they let him go, and now we were six. We each were allowed to give a statement, and our attorney did a great job, he filed the necessity defense, and put an article in it that showed when life begins in the womb. When it was my turn to give my statement I went to the podium and I asked the Judge if I could give her something. She said yes, so I went up to the bench and gave her a postcard with a picture of an aborted baby on it then I gave my statement.

MY STATEMENT TO THE JUDGE

No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law, and no courts are bound to enforce it. Abortion, the killing and taking of life of our most precious innocence, our unborn children is unconstitutional. Abortion is Murder! Article V of our U. S. Constitution states - "No person shall be deprived of LIFE, liberty, or property without due process of law." Article XIV states - "Nor shall any State deprive any person of LIFE, liberty or property without due process of law, nor deny to ANY PERSON within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." These innocent babies are not able to defend and speak for themselves. Their lives our snuffed out, and their little bodies thrown in the garbage. I am here to defend them. That is why I peacefully sat in front of this abortion clinic, to try to make a statement to the world for these most innocent human beings being taken to the slaughter house of abortion mills. If I saw a child drowning in a swimming pool, and I was standing outside a gate that said "No Trespassing", would I be arrested for trying to save that child? I think not!

FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US. I pray, judge, that you will see that what I did by sitting in front of the abortion clinic was a case of necessary conscience, as I am a proud mother and grandmother. The government has gone too far when they tell my children that they can go and kill my grandchildren without my knowledge. My heart aches to think that our future generations, twenty five million babies have been discarded as garbage. My heart would truly break, and I would never stop crying if I ever knew that one of my grandchildren had been killed by abortion. So I hope, and pray, and act, to see that our future children, yours and mine will not end up in a dumpster.

Abortion is murder, God save the babies.

The Florida Constitution, Article 1, Section 2 Basic Rights- All natural persons are equal before the law, and have inalienable rights, among which are the right to enjoy and defend life and liberty. Abortion is murder, God save the babies.

Everyone in that crowded courtroom was crying , and when I finished the Judge sentenced me for obstruction of justice, without violence, and for that I was supposed to receive 1 year probation, 50 hours of community service, pay the Boca Raton Police Department $30, and $80 court costs, plus $30 per month while on probation. I was supposed to report to a probation officer in the next room when I had finished, but when I turned around almost everyone had left the courtroom, and the Judge had fled the bench visibly shaken by what I had said. So I just left the courthouse. The next day in the newspaper was a picture of people crying in the courtroom as I gave my testimony.

Later in the mail I received papers that instructed me to do all of the above sentence. I never did anything about it. I felt it was an unjust punishment, and I am compelled to obey God's law, rather than man's when there is an unjust law like the killing of innocent children. Later I was in another jail when I got papers at my home to come back to court for violating probation by not doing it. So when I finally got out of the other jail I did go down to court in Boca Raton and it was another strange scenario. Our legal system is so messed up. I had prayed and asked God to let me go home for a while before I might have to go to another jail, because I had just finished two and one half months in jail and I said, God if you allow this I will go home and then go down to court in Boca Raton and pay $200, which was alot less than the initial fees and fines, that the woman judge in Boca Raton had dished out to me. I got home and was not home long before some local deputy sherrifs came to my door and they had a warrant for my arrest to go back to Boca. They took me to jail here in my county and I had to pay a bailbondsman $250 to get bailed out.

I arrived in court in Boca and when it came my time to go before the judge, I asked him if I could have time served which was the initial two days I was in jail, and which most criminals with much worse charges usually get and then they are dismissed. But the judge looked at me and I had a file with me, and he looked at the file and said to me, are you one of those flag wavers from down south, what do you have in that file? and he was getting more aggressive as he spoke, so he said you aren't even supposed to be in my court. There must have been a mix up in my record or something. So he said either you pay $200 or you will go to jail, I immediately said I will. Then I had to have cash they said, so I had to skrimp and borrow from some of my friends that were there with me, but praise God I had just enough. So that was the end of that court case.

I found the more I trusted and obeyed God the more He used me, and blessed me. I relate it to like when Peter stepped out of the boat to take ahold of Jesus' hand, and Jesus held him up and kept him from perishing.

It was several months after the rescue at Boca Raton, Florida that I got wind of a pending law suit against a number of very influential Christians and my name happened to be included on the list. Several abortionists, owners of killing centers, and some of the NOW gang had gotten together and filed a law suit using the Racketeer and Extortion Law (RICO) as a basis for their suit against us. This law was supposed to be used against gangsters, and people who extorted money from others. Operation Rescue is a volunteer organization of Christians who try to save babies from being murdered, and their mothers from exploitation. There is no money to be gained. The Abortion Industry however makes billions of dollars killing innocent children. (Eph. 5:11) And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, BUT RATHER REPROVE(EXPOSE) THEM. There were about 100 defendants named on the law suit, as it turned out they only have so many days by law to serve papers on the defendants named in the law suit, and one afternoon there was a knock at my door and it was a uniformed police officer and he had come to serve the papers on me, well when I got the papers it was pretty scary, so I made a few phone calls and it turned out that the papers had been served ONE DAY to LATE! So my name had to be expunged from the law suit. Jesus had saved and blessed me once again.
