My grandfather was Timothy Shea. His parents were Michael and Ellen
(McCarthy)Shea. He had for brothers; Charles,Michael,James,Hugh,John,Patrick,Dennis
and Danny. His sisters were Nora (died at birth) and Briget (Bessie). They were
from Charsiveen(?) i County Kerry. As far as I know they all lived in Conn. for
a time and then moved to the Boston area. Some took off for NY and Ohio. One
supposedly went to CA. and one to Australia. One of the brothers, either John
or Patrick were killed on the USS Ma ne, in Cuba, in 1898. Any help that could
be sent this way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Stephen T. Shea

Very nice site you have here. My grandfather, Timothy Shea, had for brothers,
Hugh, Michael, Shawn, Patrick,Dennis and James. His sisters were Bessie and
Nora (who died at birth). His parents (my great grand parents)were Michael and
Ellen (McCarthy) hea. They were from County Kerry in a town called Carchiveen.
Tim came to Boston and stayed. Dennis, I believe, went to Rhode Island and the
rest, from what I'm told spread out in the New York and Ohio area. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Than s for the opportunity to research. Stephen Timothy

Hi - Nice site. I've hit the wall, as so many of you have, on my Shea line. The
wall is Michael Thomas Shea, b. Killorglin, Co. Kerry, abt. 1850-52. Immigrated
to the U.S. abt. 1862-64. Supposedly worked in railroad construction in the
west. May have been a subscripted or indentured employee. Married a Margaret
Higgins of NJ. Worked on farms in the Greenfield, Conway, Colrain area of MA
for many years. No info on parents, siblings, where he debarked from or landed
at. Any help would be much appreciated.

had at least one ister who emigrated to England and was living in either

Hello, Thank you for having this site. I am posting notes where ever I find an
interest in Shea Family history. I have the geneaology "bug" and my
family now wants "miracles". If I can be of any assistance - let me
know. I have a pretty complete histo y of Daniel Shea and Hannah Lowney after
they arrived in the U.S. I have been unsuccessful in locating any info prior to
that time. Daniel Shea, age 24, arrived in Boston on July 12, 1852 on the SS
Abby Pratt which came from the Port of Cork, Ireland. e worked for many years
in Blood's Locomotive Works in Manchester, New Hampshire. At age 26, Hannah
Lowney arrived in Boston on June 20, 1852 aboard the SS Admiral from Ireland.
It is not known whether Hannah and Daniel knew each other prior to arriv ng in
the U.S. They married February 11, 1855 at St. Anne's Church in New Hampshire.
Their children were Cornelius S.Shea (1857-1900), John P. Shea (1861-1905),
Katherine A. Shea (Whalen), (1871-1909) Hannah M. Shea (1863-1929). Thank You
