The publisher, www.Irishroots.com , 10/26/97 The Hallmark in Irish Family History and Surnames. This is the master volume to the 32 volume Irish Family set. Contains the index to the 5 volume set to date. This First volume stands on its own, includes over 20,000 names, 2,000 histories, 350 authentic arms are fully illustrated, many found in no other work in print. Subsequent volumes expand on histories by county in Ireland.
I have this book and I have found it very interesting. "Clans and Families of Ireland" provides a interesting account of the origins of the Irish people from prehistoric times down to the present day, with particular emphasis on placenames and surnames. It is illustrated with coats of arms and clan tartans.
Tracing Your Irish Ancestors : The Complete Guide by John Grenham
I have found this book to be a good resource.
