Inspired by God at the wedding of Leonie and Chris. . . July 14, 2000

Many many years ago

I heard

if we drink of the water He gives, we will thirst no more.

I was

drowning in the tide of sorrow

I turned around and met a man who said

"I know how you feel."

"I'll send you companions."

YEARS WENT BY

I met many companions. . .

sent by Him . . .

we had children

laughed

cried

prayed for each others children

We prayed for

the child that drowned in his sleep

we prayed for the child who almost drowned in despair

we prayed for spouses and friends who almost drowned in alcohol

we prayed for spouses and friends who almost drowned in cancer

we prayed and prayed and prayed almost drowning in our own tears when we saw some of the people we had prayed for, died anyway.

we prayed for children who almost drowned in their own hatred

we prayed for children who almost drowned in their own anger and resentment

we prayed for children who amost drowned in their sense of abandonment
YEARS WENT BY

He was teaching us to walk on water.
He kept saying . . .

"He who drinks of the water I offer will thirst no more

YEARS WENT BY

I was invited to a wedding to see two of the children we had prayed for, unite as one

these two were different

these two believed

these two had been taught to walk on water

these two saw Him and understood

When they were pronounced ONE I turned and saw them all. . .

I saw them

walking on the water...

all those we thought were "dead"....just as He is not dead

because of what He did

they weren't dead

they were

walking on the water

coming to see

coming to witness

coming to celebrate the forever..ness of living in the family of God

all those people we had ever prayed for

had come to this wedding

to be in the presence of the Lord

and watch

and see what happens

when we have faith,

ask for forgiveness

and believe

we walk on water!
