We bought our first Siberian in 1988 after moving to Colorado.  Our children, ages 7 and 4 at the time, were terrified of dogs.  We decided it was time to get a dog.  After doing some research on which dog would be good for our family, we decided on the Siberian Husky.

We found a breeder that had puppies available.  We fell in love with a black/white male puppy.  When I  say "we", I mean my husband and I, because our kids were sitting on the back of the breeder's couch screaming.  They were afraid of those rambunctious little Siberians.  It didn't take very long for the kids to fall in love with our new puppy.  We named him Wildestar's Kiowa Wolfe.

Several months later, we knew Kiowa needed a playmate, so we started looking for another dog.  We found Cody, who was already one year old and very playful.   We went to a show one year later and saw Kiowa's siblings in the show ring.  I was so awestruck at how beautiful they were and I decided I wanted to learn how to do this dog show stuff.

After talking to Kiowa's breeder and getting her O.K. to show Kiowa, she gave me some grooming tips and general information and off to class I went.  Kiowa got his first major about 6 months later.

Now we have 3 Siberians; Smokey Jr., Ally & Nigel.  We lost Cody in 1999 and lost Holly and Kiowa this year. We miss them very much.  We have finished two champions.  This year I hope to finish Smokey (one major to go) and have great hopes for Nigel.  Ally retired from the show ring, but is doing a great job of being a pampered pet. I am having a great time with my dogs and enjoy their loving spirit and mischevious ways.
