Jesus died on a cross. Men killed Jesus. He could have
escaped, but He knew this was part of God's plan. Jesus died because He loved you and me.

That's a sad story, but that isn't the end. After they put Jesus' body in a cave
and covered the entrance with a large stone, Jesus' friends went away and were very sad.
They thought Jesus was gone forever.

Jesus was the Son of God, and had wonderful powers, just like
God. Jesus was able to live again, after his body died. When his friends went to his tomb,
early in the morning, it was empty. Later, many of his friends saw him and talked to him.
They were amazed! Jesus was alive! After forty days, Jesus left his friends and went to
heaven to be with God. Some day, He will come again, and everyone will see him and know
that he is Lord.

Easter is the time we remember the wonderful news that Jesus is
Alive.
He rose from the dead.
His death was not the end.
