This Month's Topic: Divider Line

In mercy and truth
Atonement is provided for iniquity;
And by the fear of the Lord
one departs from evil.
Proverbs 16:6

The truth that binds a family,
is rooted in a deep personal relationship
with Jesus Christ,
whereby we learn to be obedient,
because we have come to understand
the "fear of the Lord"!

It is very easy to misunderstand the meaning of "The fear of the Lord". To fear the Lord, our God, is to understand that God is a Holy God.

It is knowing that He is a loving God full of mercy who also maintains the right to be the ONLY and FINAL judge of sin.

To fear God is to honor Him for His great power, love, glory and holiness as well as to fear His consequences of sin both NOW and for ETERNITY!

The fear of God is simply, our motive for obedience!

If this is true in our lives and families, we will build a life of obedience, saying "No" to sin and all that is evil. We will make our lives the example. We will teach our children to hate sin and to follow the commandments. We do this by our own obedience to the Word of God. We accomplish this by making time each and every day to further develop a personal relationship with God and receive the Holy Spirit.

We just cannot show up once a week for Church,
and then say and do whatever we want the rest of the week!

We must continue to earnestly study and learn the lessons from the Bible while applying them directly in our everyday life. We must learn to be obedient to God's Word in our marriages, our families, the workplace or wherever we may be. This my friends is the only way to be clean & pure in mind, heart and spirit, which will in turn, provide protection from moral decay.

So then,....what is the result of an obedient husband and wife?

They Live by God's Rules!

-- One marriage -- One man, One woman --
-- honoring one another --
-- submitting to one another --
-- forgiving one another --
-- living in obedience to God's Word --
-- resisting sin, turning away from evil --
-- loving each other as Christ loved the Church --
Ephesians 5:25

Husbands.....you are called by God to lead your home! You are commanded by God to be the example for your family. Is your life a living example? Do not be a hypocrite! What do your words and deeds tell about your personal relationship with the Lord? Is your family bound tightly together with Jesus in a loving example that God will be proud to say "well done my good and faithful SERVANT"!?

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him
Hebrews 11:6

(And,....Faith Leads to Obedience!)

In the Christian life we must lose to gain;
we must give to obtain;
we must be last to be first
we must be humble to be exalted;
we must be least to be greatest;
we must die to live.

To fear God is to love God with all that we have within us,....
to marvel at His majesty and glory.....
to be eternally thankful that we may be forgiven through His Son....
that we will one day rest in His care where we shall be rewarded for our faithfulness...

but most of all, to fear God is to not sin against our Father in heaven
who created us, sustains us, believes in us,
forgives us and loves us so unconditionally!

If this is your Father......how would you want to treat Him?

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,

If you want to build a home that stands strong, exemplifing God's character and qualities including; goodness, faithfulness, love and forgiveness, this you will learn only through a committment to follow God's Word and by the Holy Spirit that dwells inside a faithful follower. We cannot do this ourselves!

If your marriage or family life is in need of change....look at yourself first! Be sure your life is in line with God's Will....your change will be the first step to a better life! Then....let go and let God do the rest!

May God grant us the families we so desire as we dilligently seek to know His Will!

Fear God!

then,....you will have nothing else to fear!
