to the 3 MouseCATeers plus one!

This page is all about us, The 3 MouseCATeers plus one: Cleo, Daisy, Mittens, and our newest feline friend Jenny. Soon we'll have our photos available for you to purr at plus a page dedicated to each one of us! But for now, a little about us:

Meow! I'm CLEO. I'm a gray Tabby and the matron of the group. I guess I'm at least 12 years old. It's hard to say since I was what they call a stray. I guess sneaking in that office building for warmth and in search of food has paid off. I was taken home and eventually given to my present human.

I'm also the most talkative! If anyone comes to visit, I'm right there to greet them with lots of meows. That gets their attention all right - they're usually so surprised to here such talk. When I'm not socializing, I'm sleeping or eating. I LOVE to eat. The kitchen is my favorite place! I even know how to use my paw to open the cabinet door where my canned food is hiding.

I also think I'm the female human's favorite (although she'd never tell the others!) That's because I'm the friendliest and smartest of them all. Yeah, well Mittens and Daisy have the good looks, but I have the brains and the personality! I'm street smart but my human keeps me inside now because it's safer!

Eeep! I'm Daisy. I'm a Calico and I'm the cutest and sweetest of them all! I kinda look like this:

I'm the newest of the household. My humans found me at the Denver Dumb Friends League or should I say I found them! When the female human came to the shelter to "just look" I stuck my paw out of the cage and tapped her on the head. That got her attention! She took me out of the cage and held me. That's when she knew it was love at first site! She couldn't put me down and went straight to the counter and arranged to take me home.

She sure did make a good choice! I'd never admit this to her, but I'm very grateful. She's given me a great place to live, plenty of food and water, and 2 other cat friends to play with! Sure is better than being in that cage. I show my gratitude by kissing her on the tip of her nose and cuddling with her. I also love to play with Mittens. It's so funny when we play wrestle (but I always win!).

Noooo! I'm MITTENS. Yes, I know how to say NOOOO when someone picks me up. I don't particularly like being picked up like the others do, but I'm beautiful and that makes up for it! I have a tortoiseshell long-haired body with a beige colored paw. That's why they call me Mittens. I have 3 mittens but I lost one! That makes me special! I'm also the biggest at 13 pounds!

When I was just a kitten, my humans found me for adoption at the Denver Dumb Friends League too! I was nicknamed "El Diablo" because I was a little crazy, but now I've calmed down a bit since I'm 3 years old now.

But I'm a very good girl now!

I love to play wrestle and tag with Daisy (but I always win!) Gotta go! There's Daisy...

Read a great essay here: Earth Angels: Do They Surround Us Every Day?

A Taker-in of Stray Cats

God sends some of us a special mission
To take in stray kitty-cats in any condition,
To feed them and give them a permanent home,
To love them and make them our very own.

They chase through the house; their potty box smells;
They seem to have secrets they're unwilling to tell.
They play till exhausted, then curl in your lap,
And settle themselves for a long comfy nap.

Some people are called to great wealth and power,
To run corporations, make big bucks per hour,
But others of us are only asked,
To take in little stray kitty-cats.

I asked God for things of importance to do,
Other than loving a good man and a bunch of kitties too.
He said, "Don't be self-righteous; learn from your mistakes,
And be glad I send kitty-cats and not My stray snakes."

I dreamed when I died I heard St. Peter say,
"What important things did you do each day?"
I felt Heaven for me was an impossibility
And that I should have lived my life much differently.

Then God said, "Come in. Have food and some drink,
And sit here in Heaven by your little cat Tink;
For I gave you one of My most important tasks
When I asked you to be a taker-in of stray cats."
