Adia & Riven Kelly's first litter was born on May 8th, 1998, my 15th birthday! I was rather annoyed that she'd waited so long. After all it was day 26 and it was Friday--I wasn't getting home til 5pm because of a project I had to work on. So you can imagine me at school. I couldn't wait to get home! And when I finally did I rushed up the stairs, breathless, and saw that there were some pink squirmies in the nest!! I counted quickly, while Riven came over and started poking at ME trying to figure out what on Earth I was doing with HIS babies. I counted six.

      Seven babies!

Later that evening, though, I had the opportunity to count again. One, two, three, four, five, six . . . SEVEN!! Way to tie a record Adia! All my girls have had litters of 7 now. Adia is a great momma so far even though 7 little ones are quite demanding!

The babies are Gemedet (sapphire F--Keeping!), Averone (black F), Terahnee (black F), Selenetic (agouti spot F), Devoka (black spotted M), Tomahna (agouti spot F), and Agana (agouti spot F). That's right--all are female! Except little Devoka, I think she *might* be male. I can tell them all apart except Terah & Averone. The agouti girls have different markings. Selenetic has 2 separated spots, Tomahna has a streak with a small "bulb" on her head, and Agana has a streak with a larger "bulb" on her head.

      The Birth Certificate

Gemedet is the pup that I am keeping. She is a sapphire female and I plan to breed her to a grey agouti male = ) She is a true darling. She has her own page here.
Terahnee is a black female who is living with Suzanne in Massachusetts with her mate/uncle Uphill (lilac). Hopefully they'll give Suzanne some nice black, lilac, and possibly sapphire pups.
Averone, an adorable black female, is living with my friend April in Delaware, along with a spotted LCPA mate named Dakota! Hopefully they'll have siamese and burmese ::crossing fingers:: I will be over to see them often I hope!! Here are some pics of Dakota! They have a webpage here.
Devoka was a black spot male. He was a real doll. He was almost pied, the collar went almost completely around his neck. He had very nice markings. He was paired to Agana and the two of them went to live with Mia Soderquist in Delaware on of 6/13. Mia is a very nice person and takes great care of her family & all her critters. However on 6/30 their home caught fire and Devoka, his mate Agana, their aunt Mary, and uncle-in-law Johnny all died of smoke inhalation = ( along with all of Mia's mice = (
Selenetic is an agouti spot female. Her spots are just like her dad's. She is like a little golden Riven girl = ) She's going to live in MD with Lisa Harrel & her boyfriend Ulysses. Here is a pic of them.
Agana was a spotted agouti female. She had a nice wide spot on her head just like Devoka, but she only had 1/2 a collar, it veered off to the side = ) She was Dev's mate and so also perished in that awful fire = (
Tomahna is an agouti spot female. She has a "fan mark" a little longer than Selene's, and it's slightly connected to her head spot. Quite cute. She is now living with her aunt Arista at the home of Ashley of Delaware. Ashley has the distinction of being the only person (so far) to notice my flier at the Concord Pike Library = ) I don't know what her new name will be, if she gets renamed. But I hope she'll let me know.

      News!

7/3/98 Averone (black F) is the only one still looking for a home.

6/11/98 Averone (black F) and Terahnee (black F) are definitely still looking for homes, and Tomahna (agouti spot F) *might* be. Let me know if you're interested by contacting me. That's all the pics of the babies that there are = ( Now they're all grown up! Agana & Devoka will be leaving on Saturday for their new home with Mia Soderquist (where their Aunt Mary and Uncle John live), Selene will be here for a little bit longer, and Gemedet is, of course, staying with us = )

6/9/98 They're getting soooooo big! Okay I think Tomahna (agouti spot F), Terahnee (black F), Averone (black F), and possibly Agana (agouti spot F) and Devoka (black spot M) are looking for good homes.

6/4/98 The babies are now learning to use the waterbottle. Happy 4 week birthday babies! = )

5/29/98 They are soooo hyperactive! They'll hardly keep still! Except when they're in the jar. Everyone crowds in there and there's no way to get them out! Poor daddy Riven is often exiled outside while the lot of them are in nursing with momma. Oh well, they'll be "moving on" in a few weeks = ) Good for Riven & Adia, but sad for me = (

5/26/98 Blinkey blinkey! Lots of li'l peepers today = ) Averone was the first to open, just one last night. This morning still only one, but Selene, like a good girl, had both hers open. How precocious! Also blinking this afternoon is Devoka, but Gemedet and a few others still have to get their acts together! = ) Speaking of the Oh-So-Precocious-One, Selene may have found a home with Jessica Dell of AZ = )

5/24/98 Their eyes should open very soon! You can see they're on the verge of popping = )

5/18/98 I think Devoka is a boy after all = ) I'm keeping Gemedet (sapphire) and hoping there's a male agouti spot in the next litter. She'll live with her littermates til then, I'll try to prevent her from being alone for any extended period.

5/15/98 Here are the *unofficial* names. I may change my mind = ) Most of these are for sure, but I'm waiting on naming one of the spotted agoutis and the sapphire (?). The ones I'm sure of are: Devoka (black spot), Terahnee (black), Averone (black), Tomahna (agouti spot), and Selenetic (agouti spot). If the other agouti spot is a male he'll be Channelwood, and if the sapphire is female she'll be Gemedet. But they all look mostly female. I'll wait a few days before I'm sure. I'm praying the agouti spot is male, and I'm almost certain the sapphire is a female = )

5/14/98 So far it looks like I have 3 spotted agoutis, 1 spotted black, 2 solid blacks, and 1 pink mystery. I think the pink one is a sapphire, since it's looking more and more gray but not really golden. Too light to be lilac, I think.

5/12/98 The spots are coming in! 4 of the dark ones clearly have spots on their heads. They're all unique, too. One has a long stripe down its neck, another has 2 spots like Riven, and another has a "flare" that is almost pied but probably just patched if anything. The other I can't remember but I'm sure it's different.

5/10/98 One of the babies is definitely pink eyed! The others all have dark pigment coming in and their "eye blotches" are dark. This one is all pink = ) This means Riven is AaPpC*EEGg. Now we must see if the pink one is sapphire or topas to determine if Riven is Cc(b) also (topas or sapphire would be light versions of argente or lilac).

Help keep a baby out of a pet store!

As a rule, I don't give my babies to pet stores. But the only way I can keep doing that is if kind, caring, people like you want to take them. So, if you're interested in adopting one, do not hesitate to let me know! I can ship, too. But keep in mind that adoption is subject to my descretion, and availability depends on whether or not the babies are already spoken for, and that I have the right to turn anyone down for whatever reasons I see as valid. However, I am not unreasonable. See my adoption page for more information.
