Minerva & Zeus were a mere 3 months old when their first litter was born the evening of April 15th, 1999. I went up at 8:30 to check on her, and surprise surprise she'd had 2 pups! So I stuck around and did my homework while she had her pups. In total, she had 6! Which is quite a surprise as I didn't expect that many with a 1st litter!
The mother-to-be
There are 4 pink eyeds, and 2 dark eyeds! Which means Minerva carries the "p" gene. That way, I'll at least get agouti, grey agouti, argente golden, ivory cream, plus spots of those! Zeus & Minerva are perfect parents. Minerva is a very attentive mother, and Zeus loves to take care of his kiddies =)
6 pups!!!
The little ones are all boys! They are Adamin (argente golden), Jemin (dove), Lyric (ivory cream spot, aka Emin), Mackenzie (grey agouti spot), Zebediah (grey agouti spot), and Zain (argente golden). The little pink eyed ones look like pastel colors! So cute =)

5/15/99 The pups are soooo funny--they'll all crowd under mom at once, and lift her up with a chorus of squeaks! ;) Also last night I saw them all inside the house, and Minerva was nursing them inside... with her head sticking out the little hole at the top! ;)
5/8/99 Awww Lyric is my little dude. I love taking him out and sitting him on my lap, or letting him sit on my shoulder. Such an angel ;)
5/3/99 Zain opened his eyes today! No one else did tho =P
5/1/99 The pups are so cute! They're bumbling around a lot now, and can climb up the ramp into mom & dad's little house ;)
4/25/99 The weirdest thing! Last night when I was watching TV, I had this little hunch. So I went to check on Minerva's pups. I picked up little Emin and too my amazement I noticed--HE HAS SPOTS! He is also definitely not a ruby eyed white =) He is a spotted ivory cream male! Exactly what I wanted =) So I think I'm going to keep him. He needs a better name though. I'm thinkin ;)
4/24/99 Okay, my bad ;) Now I'm pretty sure Zain and Adamin are argente golden =) They're WAY too dark to be ivory cream.
4/22/99 Ooooh they're starting to sprout fur! It seems we have 2 grey agouti spots (Mackenzie and Zebediah), a dove! (Jemin), 2 ivory creams (Zain and Adamin), and a ruby eyed white (Emin). All are boys! There is a chance the ivory creams are actually argente creams, we'll see. So far it looks like Zeus is AappCCEEGgSp and Minerva AaPpCc(h)eegg. However it MIGHT be that Zeus is Cc(b) and Minerva CC, and the "dove" is actually a sapphire but I doubt it.
4/18/99 This afternoon I went in to check on the gerbs and I couldn't find Minerva! Zeus was sitting on top of the pups, but I couldn't find the momma. I looked around the cage and saw no sign of her. Finally, Zeus moved off of the pups to see what on earth I was doing, and I noticed a little white head sticking out of the bedding. Minerva was lying on her back, covered with babies! ;)
