Eve & Reilly's 8th litter was born between 4 and 6pm on February 5th, 1999! At around 4:30 or so I went upstairs to check on her. She was on day 27 and was pudgy but no babies as of when I got home. But lo and behold--a pup! I watched for a bit, and soon a 2nd pup appeared. Then I went downstairs because she looked like she was sick of me peering at her. I returned about a half hour later and found 3 pups. Watched a while longer, and she had a 4th! So, unless she has another one suddenly, there are 4 pups!

Their names are Aspasia, Calantha, Sylvan, and Vancouver. Aspasia is named after the wife of the famous Greek leader Pericles (you'd never guess it, but we've been studying Greece for the past few weeks at school). Calantha is a name that means "beautiful". Sylvan was just random, I believe, and Vancouver is my favorite city (in British Columbia), because The X-Files and The Outer Limits were both filmed there.

2/23/99 - Blinky blinky! Aspasia and one of the schimmel kids have their eyes open. They're such cute little bumblers ;)

2/15/99 - The pups are nice and chubby and fully furred now! There's Aspasia (champagne F), Vancouver (schimmel M) and Calantha (schimmel F)

2/11/99 - Unfortunately, we lost one of the pups = ( I'm not sure why. 2 of the pups look a little smallish too. I wonder if this has anything to do with Eve being 14 months old now? The remaining 3 pups are (I think) 1 schimmel and 2 champagne.

2/9/99 - Awww wittle baby pups ;) I have a feeling most of them are gonna be schimmels.

2/5/99 - 2 days overdue, the babies were finally born today!
