The first thing you'll want to do is go graphic "shopping". I loved this part of making my homepage. I get to shop so little and it's something I love to do. So graphic shopping was very satisfying and there are so many great places to get graphics. There are some very talented people out there who really know how to work their graphics software. You can start by going to the Heartland Graphics Page and checking out their graphics and links. If you've been to my graphics pages, you'll recognize some of my graphics there because I am a member of the committee. Or you are free to use any of my graphics. I'm adding new ones all the time.

Saving the graphics to your hard drive is the easy part. You just right click on the image you want to save and choose the save image option. I created a special folder for my graphics so that I could find them easily but you can put them where ever you want.

Assuming you have the graphics you want to use already saved, let's move on to how you get them uploaded

There are two ways to do this. You can use the EZ UPLOAD utility at the bottom of your file directory page. This is the easiest way to do it but some browsers don't support it. To use the EZ UPLOAD utility, all you do is click browse and then find your folder that you keep your graphics in. Click on the graphic and click the button to open. The click "upload". That's all there is to it. You will see the files listed in your directory when it's finished uploading.

The other way to upload is by using an ftp program. I use cuteftp. You can download this software from just about anywhere that offers shareware.

You will need to know the host address because your program will ask it when you go to configure the connection information. This address is ftp.oocities.com
The other information is the initial remote directory which is \pub\homestead and of course your member name and password are the same. Your program should come with directions on how to upload but usually, you just click the file you want to upload and then click the upload button. My program allows me to double click the file and it then uploads automatically.
