My Family

God placed His loving hands upon my life
The day that I was married and became a wife
My wish to be a mother came when I was but a child
But so grown up I thought I was, now it makes me smile

My first born was a little boy with hair as dark as night
I held him in my arms through out the lonely nights
His daddy was across the sea, a man in uniform
He didn't get to hold him on that September morn

Nebraska was our home when we became a family
My husband the soldier, our son made three
A little girl with pink skin the color of a rose
A blush of color in her cheeks and a cute turned up nose

A home we built in Austin, but we were not complete
We stll had one more daughter, so tiny and petite
Her hair curled round my finger, her voice so soft and sweet
She grabbed my heart forever, my life seemed so complete

Another daughter came our way,
And we were blessed, it's true.
Now we had three daughters and one son.
Then the Lord said "that's enough, four will surely do"

Many times I've wondered, how it came to be
Why the Lord placed these special children,
in the arms of our family
He must have had a reason, that we may never know
But who are we to question, the gifts that he bestows?

Thank you Lord for the blessings you've given to me. We named them
Robert Lewis, Diana Marie, Mauri Lee, and Linda Gayle.
