His address is:
John Goulstone
10 Haslemere Road

12. iii. WILLIAM GUNNING, b. 1821, Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.

Generation No. 3

4. LUTHER MARTIN3 GUNNING (GEORGE2, THOMAS1) was born 1865 in Mold, Flintshire, Wales, and died Abt. 1938 in Argoed, Wales. He married (1) MARGARET ?. He married (2) CATHERINE LOUISA DAVIES June 04, 1883 in English Wesleyan Chapel , Mold, District of Holywell, Flintshire, Wales., daughter of JOHN DAVIES. She was born 1864, and died 1918 in Mold, Flintshire, Wales.

Notes for LUTHER MARTIN GUNNING:
Occ: Coal Miner , then farmer (Luther owned/ran a farm in Mold )
Luther was a very unusual name at the time.
Mold Anglican Church Baptism Register: October 08, 1865, Luther, son of George and Hesther Gunning (2 n's) Bromefield Cottage, Mold, Flintshire, Wales.
*** The census check for 1881, there was only one Luther Gunning listed in the whole of the British Isles.

He is thought to have moved into the family home to take on the bills etc. after the unfortunate death of Mr. Jones in a roofing accident. The only things I know so far are that Mrs. Jones was only known as Nain Pentre, they were thought to have lived at 23, The Wylfa, Ruthin but I now feel this may have been in Mold actually on the way out to Buckley. Mary Frances Jones b 1904...with 2 sisters Margaret/Maggie and Winifred, and a brother John Huw . The story goes that Luther would not take on the children as well, so they had to go to a home/workhouse?? All we can say about Luther was that we have been told he was Irish and apparently a bit of a tyrant!! Speculation leads one to all sorts of conclusions that could be drawn from this, remembering that he would not take on the children which meant they were all split up at a young age ,then they were sent to St. Asaph workhouse. He was a Tyrant with a temper.
It is listed on his daughter, Catherine Gunning's birth certificate,(1889) that he was a Coal miner. Then on her marriage certificate, (1910) that he was a Farmer, and he was deceased. He would have been 18 in 1883 when he married Catherine Louisa Davies.

The 1881 census aged 15 living with parents and a miner, copy of marriage certificate he calls himself Luther Martin Gunning on that and a copy of the 1901 census showing daughter Catherine being born in Scotland. Luther married 3 times. His first wife Catherine Davies died and his second wife was called Margaret I have not found that marriage yet or Luther's burial. He worked all his life as a miner, moving from Mold to Leeswood 1912 and then to Nerquis 1935 and on to Argoed 1938. Age 73. But on Catherine and Charles Neesom's wedding certificate, (1910) it lists Luther as diseased.

There is an alternat date for Luther Gunning Married Catherine Davies 08.10.1865 Mold Parish Church

Notes for CATHERINE LOUISA DAVIES:
Catherine's parents nursed her till she died. Luther was having an affair while Catherine was ill and that he married at least 2 other women. Catherine was living at 8 Kings Street, Leeswood at the time of her death. She was 54. She was buried on July 24, 1918

At the time of her marriage to Luther, she was living at Bromfield Row, Mold.
