buried in Coos River Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.

He was married to Eliza DAVIS on 14 Aug 1843.  Eliza DAVIS was
born on 10 Nov 1821 in Berke County, Pennsylvania.  She
died on 1 Oct 1906 near Susanville, California at the home
of son, Jasper A. Yoakam.  She was buried in Coos River
Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.  John A. YOAKAM and
Eliza DAVIS had the following children:

5.  Jasper A. YOAKAM was born in 1848.  He died in 1930.

He was married to Marian Adelia ROGERS on 14 Feb 1871 in Coos
County, Oregon.  Marian Adelia ROGERS was born in 1846.  She died 
in 1920 in Coos County, Oregon.  She was buried in Coos River
Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.  Jasper A. YOAKAM and
Marian Adelia ROGERS had the following children:

	15	i.	Edwin R. YOAKAM was born on 8 May 1872 in
Coos County, Oregon.  He died on 8 May 1872 in Coos County,
Oregon.  He was buried in Coos River Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.
	16	ii.	George H. YOAKAM was born on 28 May 1873
in Coos County, Oregon.  He died on 26 Apr 1874 in Coos
County, Oregon.  He was buried in Coos River Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.

Tuesday, September 17, 1901

GEORGE YOAKAM KILLED

Found Dead in the Pasture Near His House

"News was received by telephone, yesterday evening, that George
Yoakam, of Coos river, had been found dead in the
pasture about 200 yards from his house.  Later particulars 
received this morning are to the effect that the body was
badly bruised, and there is no question but that he met
with a violent death.  It seems that a neighbor's bull had
broken into the pasture, and about 2 o'clock Mr. Yoakam,
who had been informed of the fact, started to drive
the animal out.  Nothing more was heard of him until 5
o'clock, when his son found him dead in the pasture and gave
the alarm.  Everything points to the conclusion, that
while attempting to drive the bull out of the pasture,
the animal turned on him and gorged him to death.
Mr. Yoakam was a highly respected citizen, and his sad
death is sincerely regretted by the entire community.  He
was 51 years old, and leaves a wife, three daughters and a
son, besides his aged mother and numerous relatives and
friends to mourn his untimely demise."

He was buried in Coos River Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.

He was married to Sarah "Alice" NOAH on 5 Aug 1879 in Coos
County, Oregon.  Sarah "Alice" NOAH was born in 1860.
She died in 1939 in Coos County, Oregon.

9.  Martha YOAKAM.  

She was married to S.R. DAVIS on 11 Feb 1874 in Coos County,
Oregon.

10.  John YOAKAM was born on 30 Jul 1859 in Coos County, Oregon.
He died in 1938 in Coos County, Oregon.  He was buried 
in Coos River Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.

He was married to Mary Carolina HOUSER (daughter of Christian
Evander HOUSER and Sarah Jane POTTER) on 15 Mar 1885
in Coos County, Oregon.  Mary Carolina HOUSER was born in
Jan 1869 in North Carolina.  She died on 28 Jan 1945 in
home:  1066 S. 8th St., Coos Bay, Coos County, Oregon.  She
was buried on 31 Jan 1945 in Coos River Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.

John Yoakam Was
Native Of County

"John Yoakam, 79, a life-long resident of Coos county died at
Belle Knife hospital in Coquille after an extended illness.
Yoakam was born in Coos county July 3, 1859.

The body was taken to the Thuerwachter Funeral home at
Marshfield, where funeral services wer held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Rev. Frederick G. Jennings of Marshfield
officiating.  Burial was in the Coos River
cemetery.

Yoakam operated a ranch on the Coquille-Marshfield highway, not
far from Coquille.  His wife died in 1933.  He is survived 
by three sons, Edwin D., Jasper R., and John B., all of
Marshfield rural route.

Yoakam was one of Coos county's oldest pioneers.  He was the last 
of his generation of the Yoakam family, a son of John Yoakam,
who was one of the original settlers of the town of
Empire.



Mary Carolina (Houser) Goldbloom Obituary

Monday, January 29, 1945

70 Years Dies

"Last rites will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Campbell's
funeral home for Mary Caroline Goldbloom, 76, a
resident of Coos Bay 70 years.  Mrs. Goldbloom died
yesterday morning at her home, 1066 south Eighth street,
Coos Bay.

Rev. Gilbert Newland will officiate at the funeral and interment
will be at Coos River cemetery.

Among survivors are the husband, Dan Goldbloom; two sons, Jasper
Yokam of Langlois, and Edwin Yokam of Coos Bay; one
daughter, Mrs. Lillian Cooper of El Monte, Cal., two
brothers, J.G. Hauser of Myrtle Point and Fines Hauser of
Coquille; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Warner of Powers,
and Mrs. P.W. Culver of Coquille."

	24	v.	Robert Russel YOAKAM was born on 13 Nov
1895 in Oregon.  He died on 25 Jun 1929.  He was buried in
Coos River Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.  He served in the
military.

11.  Joseph H. YOAKAM was born on 14 Feb 1862 in Coos County,
Oregon.

He was married to Harriett L. JONES on 7 Jul 1888 in Coos County,
Oregon.  Harriett L. JONES was born on 3 May 1864 in
Douglas County, Oregon.  Joseph H. YOAKAM and Harriett L.
JONES had the following children:

Coos County, Oregon.  She was buried in Coos River
Cemetery, Coos County, Oregon.

She was married to William HORSFALL M.D. on 7 Apr 1896 in Coos
County, Oregon.  William HORSFALL M.D. was born in 1866.
He died in 1958.

20.  Edwin Dow YOAKAM was born on 2 Jul 1886 in Coos County,
Oregon.  He died on 22 Dec 1967 in Coos County,
Oregon.  He served in the military.  According to
