Penny's Story:

Hi, my name is Penny I'm a Chihuahua-Terrier cross. At least that's what mom tells me but I think I'm a human just like my mom. I was found in the dog pound when I was just a little pup,by my current mom's best friend. She became my first mom and spoiled me rotten. I was real shy at first being such a little dog and all, but it didn't take me long to get over that. I love attention and as soon as I had a good home with lots of love I did whatever I thought necessary to get it. My new found mom raised pit bulls at the time ,and I learned real quick size doesn't mean anything if you act crazy. Not even a foot tall I would back those big puppy's right up! I soon discovered the bigger the dog the meaner and more crazy you act. And if they didn't back off right away it was sure they would when you walked up snarling and bite them on the nose. I stayed with my first mom for several years. I met my current mom 3 years ago and fell in love with her right away. I didn't like my first mom's boyfriend at the start. He didn't understand the rules. NO Fighting , I bit him a couple times for rough housing with my first mom's kid. I don't know the difference between play fighting and fighting, and when it comes to kids you Don't touch mine! Human or puppy. So my first mom thought it best to give me to my current mom since I liked her sooo much. She takes me everywhere with her almost, and play's with me lots. I hate being away from her for even a second. She left me in the car one day when her and grandma went in to the green house to get some plants. I thought she must have just forgotten me so I jumped out the window and caught up to them in the store. Mom wasn't impressed even though she was laughing. She put me back in the car and told me to stay she'd be right back. Well little did she know terrier's have absolutely no patience! I waited about 20 seconds and when she hadn't returned I decided to get her attention by jumping on the car horn! That got her attention all right! She ended up taking me in the shop with her . Mom says sometimes I'm just too smart for my own good. I love the farm and have my chores to do. I round up the free range chicken's in the evening and put them in their coop so the other night critters don't eat them. It's also my job to make sure they stay in the back yard as mom says they're not aloud to wonder out to the road. This goes for the ducks as well and I know the difference between them. Ducks go in the pond ,and chicken in the coop. I'm also a real good rater. Mom says if I find any rats or mice in the house it's my job to get'em! I'm not allowed to chase any animal with a name because that means it's a pet . So Terror the cat is off limits. At night I have a very special job guarding Wayne the owner of the farm. You see mom says he's quadriplegic and can't protect himself if someone bad comes in the main house at night so I sleep with him all night to make sure he's safe till his nurse comes in the morning. Then I go wake up mom and start a new day.
