NEVADA PARK RANGER AGENCIES

There are finally enough Park Ranger Agencies out there to warrant their own page! As far as I know, there are only three Park Ranger Agencies in the entire state. Should anyone have any different information, please let me know.

The Carson Park Ranger is a new one, just like the Reno. However, I don't have any history about that agency. As far as the Las Vegas Park Ranger, all I know is that my room mate in the Academy was and probably still does work for them. Are you out there Binions? I would really like to thank Scott Freeman for this patch, and for the history to go along with it. (Above Right)
This agency was developed in 1995 as a result of a term paper written by Freeman. In April, 1995 the city hired Freeman as a temporary employee into this position. Freeman created the patch with the help of his friend Russ Borgman from RAM Uniforms in Reno, which is no longer in business. In 1996 the city funded the position, and eventually Freeman got the job through a civil service process, beginning full time in December of 1996. Currently there is still only one Park Ranger, and from the stats that Freeman gave me, it appears that he is quite busy!
This is the new style Reno Park Ranger, which makes the one above old style. This patch is based on a design from San Jose. Freeman handed me this patch at the patch show in Sparks. This patch has been in use since about September, 1999. The older patch was not holding up, so the design and manufacturer were changed.
