Winnemucca Police Department

Winnemucca is located on Interstate 80 about 51 miles west of Battle Mountain, and about 78 miles east of Lovelock. Highway 95 joins Interstate 80 in the middle of town, and runs north to the Oregon border. The Winnemucca Police Department was established in 1917.

This is a stock eagle. I would assume since many agencies in the state used a stock eagle early on, that this would be one of the first patches the agency used.

This is obviously an older style patch. I have no way of knowing when this patch was in use. I was given this patch and the one right below this one by my friend Sgt. Rick Waldie of the Winnemucca P.D. Thanks Rick!

This indian headdress was used by the department for a while. This patch and the one following this one are both on the headdress theme.

Who has info? I am looking for all history in reference to Nevada law enforcement agencies. If you can help with the history, it will be greatly appreciated.
