"God Made Me Special!!"

(Devotions for Pre-Schoolers!)

Devotion #1:
"In the Beginning"

Memory Verse: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:1, 10

In the beginning, you didn't need sunglasses! Close your eyes and tell me what you see! Not much, right! Now open your eyes and all of a sudden it isn't dark anymore. This is how is was in the beginning when God created the world. God said, "I'll divide the light from the dark." He called the light, "day" and the dark "night."

1	On the first day, God made day and night!

Look up at the sky. Tell me what you SEE!

"On the second day, God made the heavens."

Do you like to swim at the beach or in the lake? Did you know that God made made the oceans and lakes! Can you tell me what day God made the lakes and seas?

3	On the third day, God made the lakes, seas and the earth. He also made flowers and trees on the third day.

Can you tell me what shines in the sky during the daytime? What about the nighttime? Did you know that God made the sun, moon, and the stars. God made the sun to give us warmth and light! Can you count the stars in the sky?

On the fourth day, God made the sun, moon and stars. God said, "It is good."

Do you like to go fishing or watch the birds fly by in the sky?

5	On the fifth day, God made the little creatures that fly in the air, that swim in the sea and that crawl on the ground.

Do you like animals? Can you moo like a cow? What are you favorite animals? Did you know that God made all the animals on the earth. God also decided to make a man that he would name Adam. Adam would take care of all the fish, birds and animals. God also made a helper for Adam and he named her Eve. God said, "I like everything that I have made."
