"Create the scent of the holidays with these aromatic
ornaments. For gift-giving, hang several of them on a
sm. decorative tree."
COOK'S NOTE FROM ELAINE CHRISTIANSEN: "...Pomander
Balls make a colorful and fragrant decoration,
centerpiece or closet sachet that lasts for weeks (and
years). And they are easy enough for children to make
and give, all by themselves.
To make pomander balls, press whole cloves into
thin-skinned firm oranges, lemons or limes. To start
holes for the cloves, use a nail or skewer. (This also
prevents 'chewed up' fingers.) Add cloves in rows to
cover the fruit or make other designs. Use ribbons
for additional decoration or for hanging the pomander
balls."
I have not tried either of these versions. They come
from my Pillsbury "Holiday" cookbook, Classic #142.
