Donald E. Eastham, 80, 1215 Faichney Drive, Watertown, and formerly of Mannsville, died
April 21 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Born in Camden on December 15, 1919, son of Milton E. and Margaret Durgee Eastham, he
graduated from Camden High School, Postdam Normal College and Syracuse University.
Following college he taught music in Harrisville. From 1941 to 1945 Mr. Eastham served
in the US Army.

He married Monica Stevens of Barnstaple, Devan, England, August 12, 1945 in the Barnstaple
Baptist Church, the Rev. A. E. Johnson officiating. The couple lived in Cape Vincent from
1945 to 1954 where Mr. Eastham was a music teacher at the Cape Vincent School. In 1954
they moved to Mannsville where Mr. Eastham became Supervising Principal of the Mannsville-
Manor Central School until 1968 when the school was merged into the South Jefferson
Central School District, Mr. Eastham became the District's business administrator, a
position he held until his retirement in 1978.

In 1990 the couple moved to their present home in Watertown. Mr. Eastham was a member of
the Mannsville United Methodist Church, the Camden Masonic Lodge, the Adams Rotary Club
and the Cape Vincent American Legion Post.

He is survived by his wife Monica, four sons James E. Shrewsbury, Mass., Robert M.,
North Syracuse, Donald E. Jr., Watertown, Thomas S., Cuba, NY; three daughters Jane E.
Eastham, Minneapolis, Minn., Suzanne L. Eastham, New York City and Debra A. Eastham,
Cranston, R.I.; nine grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. William J. (Barbara) Braell,
Palmyra and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held April 25 at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Burial Forest
Lawn Cemetery, Camden.
