Mrs. Eva Wakefield, who was born here June 16, 1879, died at the age of 77, in the George Nursing Home April 13, 1957.
She was the daughter of Morris and Lucy Redmond Swanson.
Her marriage to Henry Wakefield took place in Camden Nov. 9, 1898, conducted by the Rev. Richard Abbott. Mr. Wakefield died in 1949.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Camden, and the WCTU. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John Parry and Mrs. Carl Clemens, both of Camden; two sons, George of Worth, Ill. and Earl Hohokus, N.J.; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. James O'Brien, Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were performed at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the B.A. Sanborn & Son funeral home, with the Rev. Allison Wood officiating, and burial was in Westdale Cemetery.
Bearers were Lawrence Kent, Arthur Johnson, Alfred Avery, Lynn Taylor, Edward Wakefield, Warren Wakefield.
There were flowers from Westdale Church and friends, Miniscaongo Yacht Club, employees of A.M. Farnsworth & Sons, and neighbors of McConnellsille, Westdale and Hillsboro Roads.
People attended from Hohokus, N.J., Cleveland, Illinois, Syracuse, West Rome, Utica, New Hartford, Oneida, Chadwicks, Clarke Mills, Ridgewood, Osceola, Peterboro, Munnsville and Oneida Castle.
