Mrs. William S. Fenton of Chittenango died at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday at Oneida City Hospital from injuries suffered in an auto accident a week ago Tuesday at Oneida Castle.
Flossie Belle Crenan was born 63 years ago, Oct. 20, 1881, daughter of William Crenan and Isabel Lambie Crenan of Camden. She was graduated from Camden school. She was married to William S. Fenton in Camden June 19, 1907 and the couple has lived in Chittenango since.
Mrs. Fenton was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Chittenango and has been a teacher in the Sunday School for some years. She was active in church organizations, a member of the order of the Eastern Star, and of the Chittenango Grange.
Survivors include a son, Pvt. Harold E. Fenton, now in Naples, Italy, a daughter, Miss Ruth I. Fenton, Chittenango; two grandchildren: J. Eldridge Fenton and Joan Syracuse; three brothers, T. W. Crenan, Camden, and Leonard and Claude, Syracuse; one sister, Miss Grace Crenan, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at her late home in Chittenango at 2 o'clock on Saturday and at 2:30 in the Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Fenton, who was also injured in the accident, is recovering. He suffered severe shock and facial lacerations. At the time of the accident Mr. Fenton was driving his son's car, and it is believed by authorities that he dozed at the wheel. The car left the highway and struck a large tree, wrecking the vehicle. Mrs. Fenton was thrown violently against the front of the machine, and both she and her husband were removed in an unconscious condition to the hospital.
