Not unexpected, but none the less the occasion of sorrow, was the announcement of the death of
Hannah Lambie, which occurred yesterday. She was the eldest of the eight children of the late
John Lambie. She was born in Hillsboro, and has always been a resident of this town. For several
years she taught very successfully in various district schools, and for a long time was a faithful
and loved teacher in the Union School, a position which she held longer than was good for her
health, as the result has proved. For 11 years Miss Lambie has been a faithful and consistent
member of the Presbyterian church. A cultured, universally respected and useful woman, she has
gone to her reward, the coummunity has few such to spare, and its sincere sympathies are
extended to the bereaved relatives.
