A GOOD WOMAN DIES.
-------------------
Mrs. Jane Lambie, for 72 Years a Resident of this Town.

JANE RICHMOND LAMBIE, relict of the late John Lambie, died at the home of her son, William W.
Lambie, corner of Mexico Street and Voorhees avenue, about 9 o'clock Monday morning. Mrs. Lambie
had been an invalid for many years, and for the past year had rapidly failed in health. On
Monday morning she seemed no worse than usual and was up for a time, but lay down again a little
before 9, and soon after members of the family hearing a strange noise went to her and found
her dying.

Jane Richmond was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, March 23, 1817. She came to America with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Richmond, when only 13 years of age, and settled with them in Hillsboro.
She married John Lambie and they moved onto the place near the Grove Mills on Wolcott Hill Street,
now known as the Lambie farm. Mr. Lambie died in 1875. She remained on the farm until about eleven
years ago, since which time she has made her home with her daughter and with her son William.

Mrs. Lambie was generally known throughout the town, and beloved for her amiable and pleasant
social qualities. having been baptized in infancy, while a girl she was welcomed as a Communicant
by the Union Congregational Church of this village, from which she was transferred on certificate
to become a charter member og the Camden Presbyterian church of which she alsways remained a happy
and faithful member. She was a generous, noble woman, ever ready with help and sympathy for the
needy and distressed, and as a neighbor and friend her memory will be cherished by many. The burden
of years of infirmities has weighed heavily upon her for the past year or more. She was weary, and
God has given her rest.

She leaves to bless the memory of a devoted mother, three children, a daughter and two sons: Mrs.
Daniel G. Dorrance and William W. Lambie of Camden, and James A. Lambie of Lewistown, Pa.

The funeral was held from the house yesterday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Richard Abbott officiating,
and her long-time pastor, Rev. E. N. Manley, assisting in memorial remarks. The bearers were John
G. and William H. Dorrance, James Stark and Daniel Dunton. Interment was made in Forest Park
Cemetery.

LAMBIE - In Camden, N.Y., Feb. 18, 1889, Jane Lambie, aged 72 years. Funeral Saturday at the house at 11 a.m. and at the Presbyterian church at 1 p.m.
