The death of Jay C. Armstrong occurred Monday evening at his home on Wolcott Hill street,after an illness which dates back to January 1st. Death was due to heart disease. During his illness he has been able to be about his home,but unable to get out. Sunday he was taken worse and failed gradually until the end. During is sickness Dr. Stranahan of Rome was here to counsel with Dr. Shaver. Mr.Armstrong was the only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jay Armstrong, and had he lived until May 14 he would have been 48 years of age. He was born in Florence, but practically all of his life and had been spent in this town. In 1884 he married Miss Cora Lobdell,daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Lobdell of this place,to whom and the mourning children much sympathy is extended. The Children are Edward J., Mrs.David Hiltbrand, Leah, Curtis W., Kitty Mae and Sylva.
The funeral will be held at 3p.m. today from his late home and interment made in Forest Park cemetery.
