Mrs. Lucy Swanson was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Redmond. She was born in Ireland June
21, 1856, and was 58 years of age. When she was 6 months old she came to this country with her
parents and they located in Carterville. Most of her childhood was spent in and around Camden.
She was a devoted member of the Presbyterian church. About 37 years ago she was married to
Maurice Swanson and they lived on a farm on the Dunbar road. His death occurred several years
ago and since then her daughter, Mrs. Grace Taylor, has resided with her. Just at present Mrs.
Taylor is at Payne's hospital under treatment for nervous exhaustion. Mrs. Swanson is survived
by four daughters: Mrs. Frank Reymore of Chenango Forks, Mrs. Henry Wakefield, Mrs. James
O'Brien and Mrs. Grace Taylor of Camden; and also by nine grandchildren.
The funeral was held from Mr. Sanborn's residence on Second St., Tuesday afternoon at 3:30.
Rev. L. G. Colson officiated. The bearers were the three son-in-law, Frank Reymore, Henry
Wakefield and Jas. O'Brien, and her nephew, Andrew Boehm. The remains were placed in the vault.
