MISS VINETA SWANSON AND MR. ORVILLE A. MANZER
--------------------
Happy Event Occurred 5 p.m. Yesterday at the Home of the Bride's Parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Swanson -- Honeymoon Trip to Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

A very interesting matrimonial event took place last evening at five o'clock at the home of Mr and Mrs. Fred H. Swanson on the Mexico road, about a mile and a half west of the village, at which time their elder daughter, Miss Vineta Swanson, became the bride of Mr. Orville A. Manzer, jr., of this village, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Manzer of Masonic Ave. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. R. K. Sheffield, pastor of the Methodist church. The bridesmaid and best man were Miss Leota Swanson and Mr. Spence A. Manzer of Syracuse, sister and brother of the bridal couple. The ceremony was witnessed by only the immediate families of the bride and groom. A delicious wedding supper followed, and soon after the happy pair departed in the groom's car for Utica, from whence by rail they go to Buffalo and Niagara Falls on a few days honeymoon trip.

Mr. and Mrs. Manzer are both well known and popular among a host of friends, whose hearty congratulations and best wishes go out to them on this happy culmination of their friendship. Mrs. Manzer is a Camden girl who is admired for her sterling character and genial, jolly manner. She is a graduate of Camden High School, Class of 1916. Following graduation she was successfully engaged as a public school teacher until two years ago when she entered the Camden office of the F. S. Harden Co. She is a member of the M. E. church and Sunday School, valued as one of the active young ladies in the society's work. Her wedding gifts are very beautiful and substantial, consisting chiefly of silverware and furniture.

The lucky man is a native of Camden and with the exception of the years spent in the world war, has always resided in Camden. He is an A No. 1 telegraph operator, at present being first trickman in the N.Y. Central office. During the war he served in the Signal Service, Radio Devision, in France, a position that often demanded the highest test of bravery. His ability in the lightning service became recognized and at the close of the war the government granted him a radio license. Mr. Manzer is president of Arthur S. Moran Post and has been very active in all American Legion matters and instrumental in buying and developing the splendid home of the Camden Legion.

Mr. and Mrs. Manzer are to reside in the Abbott house on Masonic Ave., which they have all furnished and equipped ready for housekeeping when they return. They will be at home to friends after January 1st. Mrs. Manzer is to remain in the employ of the Harden Co. for the present.
