Our love story is normal and simple,
but as I treasure the memories, I'd like to share it with you too.
I met Donny through a chat programme called "IRC" back in 1998.
He was in Wichita, USA back then.
I knew him by the name of "D" and he knew me only as "Jane".
We were merely chat friends and we've never met each other face to face.
We don't exchange photos nor did we call each other on the phone,
so we've lost contact somewhere in 1999 and never heard of each other again.
3 years later, he came back to Malaysia. That was in the year 2001.
A friend of mine (which happens to be his friend too) took us out one night. I have no idea who he was,
although we were seated in the same car, since my friend only said that "he" is someone I knew.
I was finally introduced to him as "Cindy" and he as "Donny", (the "D" that I knew) when we
arrived at the pub. Oh well, it was then filled with lots of laughter. *:o)*
Again, we never exchanged phone numbers! *haha* But 3 days later, Don called
my mobile phone. He got the number from that friend of ours. And so, we started talking
to each other everyday. He started taking me out to lunch, dinner and shopping.
The thing a guy do to win a girl's heart. *LoL* But it really surprised me that he never
bought me flowers!
2 weeks later, April Fool's Day. I went to a pub with a goodfriend of mine for some
karaoke session. You see, I really, really love to sing. *:o)* And guess what, Don suddenly
appeared there!! He said to me, "Can I talk to you outside?" So I went out with him. There he was,
smiling at me and suddenly said, "I love you, Cindy and I'd like you to be my girlfriend." That was
the exact word he said. I was so stunned and surprised I couldn't say a word. I wanted to say, "Yes"
but it just won't seem to come out of my mouth. Silly me! I was so shy! Just when I got the strength
to say "Yes!", Don whispered to my ear... "April Fool!". Then he made his way back to his car and left.
I can't believe it! I wanted to cry. I felt like a fool.
Well, you know.. the kind of feeling like you've been fooled or something. *LoL!*
So I went back home and sulked myself for the rest of the day. The next morning, I went to IRC
for a little chat. It so happened that Don was there too. So as you would've guess, he
clicked on me and started chatting with me. He told me that he was serious lastnight, but since
I didn't answer him back, he took it as a no. So in order to save his skin, he said "April Fool"
to make it looked like a joke! Awww... poor thing. So he asked me again on IRC. Again, I didn't answer
him back. Hehehe...
A week later, (April 7th).. I asked him (on IRC) why does he like me. He said some
sweet things about me, but what really caught my attention was when he said he fell for me on the
first time he meets me (that night in the pub) when I sang that Cranberries song, "When You're Gone".
He said I got a beautiful voice. *LoL!* I also asked why I never got flowers from him. He said his first
ever flower for me from him would be Tulips, my favourite flower! He knew how much I adores Tulip
and never had the chance to actually 'see' and 'touch' the real ones. There's no Tulip in Malaysia,
nor could you order it from any florist. He tried that once, but to no avail. So I guess I wouldn't
be getting any flowers from him till the day we visit Holland or places with Tulips. *Ü*
Okay, to make long story short.. I finally said "Yes" to him on April 7th. A week after his
"April Fool's Proposion". *haha*
I love him. He has been so sweet to me all this time. He has done a lot of things that touches
my heart, and I know that I can never repay him. He recently buy me my dream car, a Honda Civic.
For this, I'd like to say thank you to him, Donny for all his love for me. I want him to know
that I love him so much and I hope that we'll always stay happy as we are now. *:o)*
