Two Golden Days

There are two golden days, about which I never worry yesterday and tomorrow.

Those belong to God. Therefore, that leaves me only today.

Any man can fight the battles of just one day. Oh, Friend it is only when we add the burden of those two awful eternities-yesterday and tomorrow- that we break down.

Those are Gods days- leave them to Him. Therefore, I will journey just One Day At A Time.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will.

When the road you're trudging seems all up hill.

When the funds are low, and the debts are high.

And you want to smile, but have you have to sigh.

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.

As everyone of us sometimes learns.

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won had he stuck it out.

Don't give up though the pace seems slow.

You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out.

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.

And you never can tell how close you are.

It may be near when it seems so afar.

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit.

It's when things seem worse,

That you must not quit.

A Living Sermon

I'd rather see a sermon then hear one any day.

I'd rather one should walk with me, then merely show the way.

I can soon learn how to do it, if you let me see it done.

I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run.

All the lectures you deliver may be very wise and true,

But I would rather get my lesson by observing what you do.

Thought I might not understand you, and the fine advice you give.

There is no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.
