"In The Garden"

          The Gardener

On a cross so long ago
          A man gave His life
For He know there was no greater price
          That could be paid
          To save our souls.

Laid away in a grave ~
          There my Saviour did rest.
          Little did they know
          His promises were true;
          "Destroy this temple
          And in three days
          I will raise it up."

          The stone was rolled away
On that third day as He had said.
Mary Magdeline came to His tomb ~
And stooped to see her Lord.
But, alas! He was not there.

"Where have you taken our Lord?" they cried
To the Gardener which was there.
          And with one simple word
          Her eyes were opened,
And she know her Lord was risen.

"Go and tell my brothers that I have risen."
And they did as He had bade.
But they believed not her words
Until they saw that He was alive
          And in their midst.

He appeared to just a few
          Who called on His Name,
          (Scattered abroad, though they were.)
And opened their eyes to all He taught
          During His years with them.
