HE WALKED WITH ME
He walked with me again last night,
Leading the way through the darkness and fright.
A tower of strength, a strong guiding hand,
A path to be followed through the barren land.
He walked with me again last night,
When my torchlight dimmed, his burned bright.
Lighting the way, through a deluge of doubt,
My torchlight it flickered but never burnt out.
He walked with me again last night,
Though I slipped and I fell, he made it right.
When my will became parched, my soul but a shell,
He bid me come drink, from his cool healing well.
He walked with me again last night,
Against the bitter darkness, a beacon of light.
When I gave up and quit, tossed it away,
He cradled me in his arms, saving the day.
He guarded, guided me, helped in my plight,
He loved me, he walked with me, again last night.
