SALLY: Hi, Uncle Herb. I'm glad you stopped by to visit with us.
HERB: Thank you, Sally. It is nice to be here.
SALLY: I understand from mom that you are on furlough from the military.
HERB: That's right, Sally.
SALLY: Do you have a job?
HERB: I sure do, I work on jeeps, just like I did before I entered the service.
SALLY: Do you have a boss?
HERB: Yes. My commanding officer is my boss.
SALLY: What do you do for him?
HERB: Well, I follow every order he gives me.
SALLY: What kind of orders does your commander give?
HERB: Sally, he tells me different things at different time. Something needs fixed, he tells me.
SALLY: That sounds interesting, Uncle Herb.
HERB: But, Sally, I have another commanding officer.
SALLY: You do!!!
HERB: Yes.
SALLY: What do you do for Him?
HERB: Well, Sally, my other commanding officers is Jesus. And I pray that I am as faithful in following His orders as I am in following the military commanding officer's orders.
SALLY: Wow. That must be neat.
HERB: It is, Sally. God has commanded us to go into all the world and preach the gospel.
SALLY: My Sunday School teacher says that the Gospel is the Good News.
HERB: You Sunday School teacher is right. God also said to love one another. If you are a Christian Jesus expects you to follow His commands. See you later Sally.
SALLY: Thanks Uncle Herb. I think I'll go pray about this. I don't know if I have been obeying my commanding officer lately. See you everybody.
