DAD: Well, Blue, have you settled down yet?
BLUE: Settled down? Who can settle down after yesterday.
DAD: You mean that really got to you?
BLUE: Got to me? That's an unstatement. How would anyone feel who went deer hunting and met a bear?
DAD: A tiny bear upset you that much?
BLUE: A TINY BEAR. I would hate to see your large bear.
DAD: All he was doing was checking out things in that corn field. He sniffed around a bit and than left.
BLUE: Dad, did you see how much he wanted that corn?
DAD: Yes I did, Blue. But apparently he sensed danger, and he was too smart to take a chance by staying out in the open.
BLUE: You never think of a bear being smart?
DAD: I know. We could take a lesson from him. In Ephesians 5:15 it says; (Ephesians 5:15) "So be careful how you live, not as fools but as those who are wise."
BLUE: What does that mean Dad?
DAD: Well, it means that, as Christians, we are to be very careful how we live and where we go -- looking all around and being alert to every temptation -- so we don't get trapped by some sin or trick of the devil.
BLUE: We sure could learn from that. I remember when we got home how mom said "Don't make up some big story about hundreds of deer, just tell me the bare facts.
DAD: Yes and that's just what you told her, the "b-e-a-r facts" How about you boys and girls are you foolish about the way you live, or are you careful in all that you do?
BLUE: Do you stay away from places where you might be tempted to do wrong? Do you avoid people who encourage you to sin?
DAD: Be careful to live as God wants you to live. Be wise. See you everybody.
BLUE: Bye boys and girls.
