MOM: Chris, you seem to be concentrating on something right now. Anything bothering you?
CHRIS: I was thinking about last summer and the time I went bike riding.
MOM: What was so different about that?
CHRIS: I'm sure you will remember that you told me that bicycles had to obey the same traffic signals that cars do.
MOM: Yes, I'm sure I did say that. How is that got you wondering?
CHRIS: When I came to the first stop light it was red and I remembered your words and I stopped.
MOM: I'm glad to hear you did listen to what I said.
CHRIS: Yeah, but I started thinking about something else, and when I look up the light had turned green and was red again. I had to sit through that light too, and wait for it to turn green. What a dummy!
MOM: (laugh and shake head) I'm afraid you really weren't thinking much better than Mr. Baskin was when he ran the red light yesterday. After all, a green light means 'go' and you didn't go.
CHRIS: Well, the second time it was green I did. You can be sure of that.
MOM: I'm sure you did.
CHRIS: Does God have green lights for us too?
MOM: He surely does -- lots of them. He says to 'go' and tell others about Him, to be kind, to love, to forgive, and all sorts of things -- even to obey the laws of our land.
CHRIS: The laws of the land?
MOM: Yes, the laws of the land. And just as we need God's help to obey the stops, we need His help to 'go' as He tells us.
CHRIS: I can see that would be important for God's work.
MOM: How about you boys and girls? Are you "going" when you should? Do your actions show that you love God? Are you witnessing for Jesus? Do something positive today to show your love for God and for others.
CHRIS: Yes, don't stop when you should be going. Bye boys and girls.
MOM: See all of you later. Bye.
