PUPPET SCRIPT

By Louise Ferry

"A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW"
Isaiah 55:1-9
PUPPETS: Chris & Mom

MOM: Chris, I hear Betty is moving away. Where is she moving to?

CHRIS: I don't know exactly, but it is in the country. She was really upset about it.

MOM: She was? How did you find that out.

CHRIS: Well, I was over to visit with her and she was very sad. She was sitting on the couch talking to her cat, Buttons.

MOM: Why was that so strange?

CHRIS: She was telling the cat that she was not going to like the new place. Things are never going to be the same, she told Buttons. That's when her Dad came in.

MOM: Sounds like a good place for Dad to come in.

CHRIS: He started to talk to Buttons. He told her that she was going to be scared when they put her in her pet carrier and put on the plane. You're going to think your life will never be the same, he told Buttons. Then he said, maybe we should just leave you here.

MOM: That doesn't sound like a very good idea.

CHRIS: It didn't to Betty either. She told her Dad that Buttons would be able to climb trees and chase mice at the new house. She told Dad the Buttons could do lots of things she's never done before. She might not like moving, but she'll like it after she gets there.

MOM: What did Betty's dad have to say about that?

CHRIS: Her dad said, "you think so?" Then he went on to say "well, I guess you're right. Since you're not a cat, you see things from a different point of view than Buttons does. You know that when Buttons gets to her new home in the country, she'll be happy there.

MOM: So, Betty could see Buttons situation from a different point of view. That's neat. What happened then?

CHRIS: Dad told Betty, that just as she sees the cat's future from a different point of view than Button does, God sees Betty's future from a different point of view than she does. He told her that God knows she will hurt for a while, but He also sees past that to the wonderful things He has in store for Betty at her new home.

MOM: Yes and if Betty lets Him, He will help her got over the hurt so she can enjoy the wonderful future.

CHRIS: Betty then said to Buttons that maybe there's a different world out there for both of them. We might even find a tree to climb together.

MOM: How about you boys and girls? Is there a circumstance in your life that is so hard you feel you'll never get over it? God doesn't let you see into the future, but He sees what's there. You must live by faith, trusting in God to use even the hard things to work for good in your life.

CHRIS: See you later, boys and girls. Bye for now.

MOM: See all of you later. Bye
