"GOD'S ERASURE"
Psalm 32
PUPPETS: Butch & Sally

SALLY: Butch, what in tarnation is going on with you?

BUTCH: What do you mean, Sally?

SALLY: Yesterday as I was leaving you were sure jumpy.

BUTCH: How do you mean, jumpy?

SALLY: You seemed nervous and upset.

    BUTCH: Well, I was.

    SALLY: What happened?

BUTCH: I went to Mr. Jones' barn and I had not told mom.

SALLY: She told both of us if we wanted to go over there we needed to ask.

BUTCH: I know. And when she asked me if I had, I lied to her.

SALLY: You lied to mom? How could you.

BUTCH: Telling the lie was the easy part. Living with the lie was another thing.

SALLY: How was living with the lie hard?

BUTCH: I couldn't sit still. I was nervous, and couldn't sleep. Telling that lie just kept bothering me.

SALLY: That's really tough. How did you deal with it?

BUTCH: The truth is I didn't deal with it. Mom helped me.

SALLY: Mom helped you with a lie?

BUTCH: No, she helped me deal with the lie. You see, I couldn't keep the secret of the lie anymore and I went and told her.

    SALLY: You mean, you confessed?

BUTCH: That's right. Mom showed me an article she was writing on the typewriter and she had typed the word forgive and spelled it f-o-r-g-e-v-e.

SALLY: How did that help you?

BUTCH: She simply backspaced, hit a couple of keys and it was corrected. She told me that her new typewriter has a built-in correction tape. When she makes a mistake, all she has to do is back up and correct it.

SALLY: Yes, I've seen the typewriter. How does all that help you.

BUTCH: Mom told me it reminded her of the way the blood of Jesus erases our sins, if we confess them. If she had ignored the mistake, it would have never been corrected.

SALLY: Mom always says that ignoring our sins doesn't take care of them. When we confess our sins to God, they are forgiven and forgotten.

BUTCH: How about you boys and girls? Are you trying to ignore a sin in your life? Jesus wants to forgive you and erase it. But you have to confess. See you later. Bye.

SALLY: Bye, Butch. Bye, boys and girls.
